ASSISTANT MANAGER OF PUBLIC UTILITIES FOR WATER AND SEWER

The City of Georgetown is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Manager of Public Utilities for Water and Sewer to assist in management and supervision of the overall activities of the City’s Utilities Department including water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution and wastewater/stormwater collection field operations. Applicant will participate as a member of the department’s management team in departmental policy development, administrative planning and addressing of departmental problems. Candidate will serve as an Assistant to the Manager of Public Utilities for Water and Sewer.  Requires Bachelor’s degree or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in biology, chemistry, civil or environmental engineering or closely related field; must possess a valid S.C. driver’s license; must also possess S.C. biological wastewater treatment operator’s license, wastewater collections systems license and water distribution system license.  Position requires four years or more of work related experience. Sequential Batch Reaction (SBR) Plant experience preferred. Salary Range: $43,141-69,025.

WASTE WATER PLANT OPERATOR III

The City of Georgetown has an opening for the position of Wastewater Plant Operator III. Applicant will perform skilled technical and manual work in the daily operation of the wastewater treatment plant; to prepare and maintain records and reports, and to perform related work as required. Position requires graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED with (4) years work experience related to wastewater treatment plant operations; or, any equivalent combination of related education, training and experience. Special requirements for this position are the candidate must possess and maintain a valid SC Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Must possess and maintain a Class “A” SC Biological Wastewater License. Applicant may be required to work additional hours, weekends, holidays, emergency situations, etc., as needed in order to accomplish assigned work. Salary range: $30,659-$49,055.
